What to wear for the lounge suit dress code

What does lounge suit mean?

Lounge suit requires formal dressing, but is less formal than the black tie dress code. It is, however, more formal than the cocktail dress code.

What is a lounge suit dress code for women?

It is a dress code that requires a formal outfit but with a degree of relaxation. It is not as formal as the black tie dress code, so women are free to play with colour and prints and are not restricted to only wearing dresses. Jumpsuits, pant suits and South Asian formal are also suitable.

As this is an evening event, please consider mid to floor length attire, but to keep comfort in mind - light, floaty fabrics may help you beat the Colombo heat!

What is a lounge suit dress code for men?

It is a dress code that requires a formal outfit comprising of a formal shirt and suit, with tie optional. However, there is no need to wear tuxedo jackets or bow ties.

As Sri Lanka will be hot and humid this time of year we encourage you to be formal but comfortable. You may choose to opt for light weight fabrics when considering your attire. A linen suit would be perfect!

Colour and print are welcome, but please keep in mind that this is a formal occasion and we want you all to look your best in the photos.

A note on South Asian formal:

South Asian Formal clothing includes sarees, lehengas, salwar kameez suits, sharara suits, sherwanis, Nehru jackets, and kurta sets.

Everyone is welcome to wear South Asian clothing to our wedding. However, there is no requirement to do so.
